The debut reading of an exciting new bilingual book, called by National Young People’s Poet Laureate Naomi Nye “A luminous landmark….a necessary book for all ages, all classrooms, and all our futures” and by Dr. Bambi Cardenas “an opportunity to explore…ecology, beauty and empowerment” this exciting evening at the Mexican Cultural Institute will feature a moving bilingual reading by Regina Moya & Carmen Tafolla. The Last Butterfly/ La Ultima Mariposa is an exceptional combination of stunningly beautiful visuals and a moving poetically-narrated story by two top talents in this city.
The story of a brave young butterfly, a small boy, and a dancing blue planet who build a bond of love and hard work, drawing on the magic of their relationship, The Last Butterfly is a delightful adventure into the migration of monarch butterflies to Central Mexico and the value of protecting those things we love.
