The Golden Age of Mexican Cinema spanned three decades and produced comedies, romances, and dramas. Join us on (5/15) for “Nazarin” (1958):

“Nazarin” is a Mexican film directed by Luis Buñuel and released in 1958. It tells the story of a well-intentioned, yet deeply flawed, priest named Father Nazario, who strives to live a life of purity and self-sacrifice amidst a corrupt and unjust society. The film follows Father Nazario as he tries to help the poor and downtrodden in a Mexico marked by social inequality, hypocrisy, and moral decay. Despite his noble intentions, Nazario’s attempts to do good are met with resistance and often lead to unintended consequences.
